Rent with Integrity, in contrast to its name, is an incredibly predatory company with little regard for its tenants. I rented with them for 3 years and over the course of my time the property I stayed in was: 1- filthy upon move in. Half of the doorknobs missing, staircase in tatters, broken windows that needed replacing, piles of cinder blocks in the closets, mold in the bathroom, the list goes on. It took over a year for even half of these maintenance requests to be fulfilled and some never were. At one point a maintenance person came to replace some outlet covers but he couldn’t be bothered to look around at where they went and just left a pile of covers for us to put on ourselves. One of the sets of broken closet doors we were told were going to be removed were just never removed at all. 2- the property was invaded by a family of raccoons. We tried for weeks to get them to come check out noises we were hearing in the ceiling and due to their non-response and negligence we ended up having a family of raccoons fall through our ceiling (thanks to a gaping hole in our roof and water damage) and destroy our entire upper floor. It took 2 months for them to come get the roof fixed, almost 4 months for them to fix the hole in the ceiling and make the upstairs livable. They still attempted to charge us full rent this entire time. 3- pipes burst under the driveway. Because of poor maintenance, we had a pipe burst under our driveway. Rather than fix the main pipe, RWI elected to have a temporary replacement pipe put in (which has still not been replaced for the current tenants who will likely face the same problem this winter) and left us with an over $800 utility bill which they took no responsibility for. 4- upon move out they did not reach out with a security deposit. When I did finally reach out to ask I was tricked into coming into their office not to get my deposit, but to be handed a bill to repair those damages to the home that predated me, as well as damages incurred by the raccoon fiasco of their own making. Not only that but the office staff (specifically Joanne) was incredibly rude and disrespectful at every turn. At one point during the raccoon fiasco I was informed by one of the leasing officers that my calls were being avoided because they weren’t sure what to do about the gaping hole in our ceiling or our requests for help. In fact, I have been told I am not even allowed to speak with or know the name of the owner of the property, I’m certain for fear I would let the owner know how poorly their property has been maintained. Do not rent with this company if you can avoid it. Their properties are poorly maintained to the point of being dangerous, and the customer service they provide is contingent upon them not having to lift a finger in assistance. Their goal is to milk you for every cent they can get, and keep their properties barely livable. Your families and your children deserve better, I wish someone had warned me. I had great experience dealing with Danielle. She is polite and professional. Helped me to get through my application as I was moving from Canada. No credit history so she was able to negotiate with owner, who initially denied to rent the property, with extra deposit. Great team at office. Highly recommended. Keep up your good work team.
